How it started
1971 — a runway becomes a course.
Before Bigwood was a golf course, this stretch of valley floor was an airstrip — pilots landed directly on the grass to spend weekends in Ketchum and Sun Valley.
In 1971, the airstrip became Bigwood Golf Course, designed by renowned golf architect Robert Muir Graves. The course quickly became a fixture of summer life in Ketchum — walkable, scenic, and built for everyone from beginners to scratch players.
